Assist facilities with the 20'x40' tent set up in the parking lot.

Oversee, troubleshoot and act as support for cooking of food.

BBQ  Volunteers will be responsible for setting  up condiments, prepping  and  serving burgers and hotdogs, and  maintaining condiment table for the   enjoyment of our Southridge family.

Set up tables and chairs for the event, along with the popcorn machine, pop-up tents, the BBQ station, the Root Beer Float station, plus put the garbage and recycling bins around the property. When you arrive for your shift, please check in at the Administrative Annex (building beside the Uniform Shop).

Coordinate clean up and take down. Previous experience with our popcorn and cotton candy machines from previous events is greatly apreciated!Fair warning: it’s a sticky, salty, sugary kind of job, and you’ll likely leave with a light dusting of popcorn kernels and cotton candy fluff—but that’s all part of the fun!

Hand out freezies and snacks to the delight of students and the young at  heart and ensuring only one per person.

Volunteers will take down tables and chairs, along with the popcorn machine, pop-up tents, the BBQ station, the Root Beer Float station, and clean up garbage and recycling. This is a key volunteer need for the BBQ - many hands make light work!

Provide volunteers with their nametags, confirm their volunteer position, direct where station is located.

Set up all tents in the designated areas as per volunteer coordinator instructions. When you arrive for your shift, please check in at the Administrative Annex (building beside the Uniform Shop).

Assist test takers by helping them with their jackets, preparing snack bags, and reminding them to leave prohibited items like smartwatches and mobile phones with their parents.

Volunteers will welcome test takers as they arrive for the check in, assist by checking their IDs, and direct them to the name tag table.

Volunteer will stand outside the Senior School main entrance greeting test takers and advising them to have documents reading for check in.

Volunteers will work together to decorate the Senior School Reception Desk for special occasions throughout the year. They may work as a group, in teams of two or singularly (dividing up the occasions as they see fit) and a two-year commitment is preferred. The decorating can be done on a flexible schedule during appropriate hours while students are either in class or off campus; however, not during peak times (i.e. morning attendance, recess or lunch breaks, pick-up).

The decorations should be simple, welcoming and child-friendly. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own decorations and/or may borrow items already present at the school (which may be limited).

There are nine occasions identified as decorating opportunities (along with the approximate month they occur in): Back to School (September), Halloween (October), Diwali (November), Holiday (December), Lunar New Year (January), Valentines Day (February), Easter (March/April), Springtime (May), Happy Summer (June).

Volunteers will coordinate the installation of the decorations (which will take place within a reasonable time-frame before the occasion) and will ensure the fairly prompt removal of the decor after the occasion.
