Opportunities From: Southridge School

Hands-on volunteers wanted! We need 5 volunteers to assist with tarping and taping the Senior School Gym floor and measuring and marking placement of key areas (i.e. stage, dance floor) according to a set floorplan. When you arrive for your shift, please make your way to the Annex (building beside the Uniform Shop) to sign in. From there, you will be working in the Senior Gym.

Looking to express your creative side? Come help assemble all the 'DIY' decor needed for gala. This may include centrepieces or other decorative displays for the event. When you arrive for your shift, please sign in at Senior Reception, before making your way to the Gym.

Many volunteers are required on the Friday morning before the gala to assist with setting dining tables, transporting and displaying auction items, placing decor items, and putting the final touches on the gym! Volunteers will set tables, set-up centrepieces, etc. Come prepared to have a lot of fun with a larger group of parent volunteers. When you arrive for your shift, please sign in at Senior Reception, before making your way to the Gym.

Transforming our school into an event space is no small task! After the students leave on Friday afternoon, please come and help with putting the final and finishing touches on the gym, hallways, and foyer area. When you arrive for your shift, please sign in at Senior Reception, before making your way to the Gym.

Raffle volunteers will be responsible for circulating the room and selling tickets to guests at the event. This job also involves handling of cash and counting tickets. Raffle volunteers are encouraged to dress up as they will be mingling with gala guests. Volunteers should be comfortable approaching gala guests.

Registration volunteers greet gala guests, hand out materials (i.e. program), and answer questions about the event. No experience necessary. This position entails a 2-hour shift on the night of the gala. Registration volunteers are encouraged to dress in business attire (no jeans please). (If you are planning to attend the gala, please do not sign up for this position.)

Gym tear-down volunteers will be responsible for taking down tables and stacking chairs, moving items to the Junior School basement, and returning the school to it's original state for Monday morning classes. Entails a 3-hour shift on the day after the gala. Comfy clothes and shoes are a must! When you arrive for your shift, please just make your way to the Senior Gym.

Support the live and silent auctions in various ways. This may include: "spotting" during the live auction to ensure that the auctioneer sees our bidders, support guests with placing final auction bids before closing at 10:30pm. Once auction is closed, support in striking and moving all auction items.
